What to Expect
If it's your first time at Compassion Church, you are our honored guest. We do church a little differently than other places, so here are a few frequently asked questions to help you plan your trip.
WHERE DO I GO WHEN I GET THERE?
We reserve parking spots for our first time guests right in front of the worship entrance, so if you're new to Compassion Church, look for the visitor parking signs.
Look for the "New Here? Start Here" tent outside and our greeting team will meet you and show you where to answer any questions, find the auditorium, restrooms, and children's ministry building. If you need anything throughout the day—mints, a Bible, or a pen—feel free to stop by the Guest Services desk in the lobby. We’re a friendly bunch, and we’d love to serve you!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR KIDS?
In Compassion Kids, children 6th grade and younger experience Jesus on their level in their own separate building - look for the banners by & signage clearly marked on the doors. Compassion Kids is a safe, age-appropriate environment where kids have their own service with singing, a Bible lesson, and small group time.
Compassion Little Kids (newborns thru 2 years) meets adjacent to main worship center in the same building. Each classroom is clearly marked by age, and you will be greeted by a friendly face ready to check your child in.
Speaking of security, all children's areas are equipped with a computerized security system. You will be greeted by a friendly face and each child will be checked-in. You will be given a sticker that will enable you, & only you, to pick them up after the morning worship service.
HOW LONG IS THE SERVICE?
Services last about one hour. We start by singing three to four songs followed by a Biblical message. If you want to see our preaching style, check out our most recent messages here.
If you’re visiting for the first time, you’ll want to give yourself a few extra minutes to stop by the New Here Start Here Tent outside. You are a very important person to us! We’d love to meet you and answer any questions you may have.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Don't feel like you have to dress up! Most people wear casual attire, but you are welcome to wear whatever makes you comfortable.
CAN I ATTEND IF I'M _____________?
Fill in the blank with whatever fear you have about not being accepted: divorced, single parent, broke, recovering addict, atheist, skeptic, etc. Everyone is welcome at Compassion Church. So come as you are and we’ll see you on Sunday!
At Compassion Church you will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From the moment you walk up to the building you can expect…
some little extras
There’s nothing like the smell of good coffee to warm you up.
A casual atmosphere where friendships can form and relationships deepen. A place that is serious about joy, true joy, the kind of joy that comes from real connection with God and others.
Expect to be noticed. Expect people to say something like, “Hi, we haven’t met before, is this your first time?”. Expect for people to reach out to you in love.
We love music, all kinds of music. We use music to show our Lord how much we love and honor Him.
